Homemade Anti-Acne & Anti-Blemish Face Mask

I have something special and different to present on the blog; except this little ditty will NOT make you gain any weight like the rest of the recipes do. Although you COULD eat it...120.2% safe for consumption**
And I did try a little finger scoop of the delicious mixture. How many face masks can you say are safe to ingest? I think not many...

The best part of this recipe is that it is put together with ingredients that you can:
A: pronounce
B: find in just about any grocery store
C: Not worry about your kids/pets/dummie-manchild/dummie-you, ingesting

I enjoy wholesome, natural food, as well as natural products. It's important to me to cut out as many unnatural things as possible, including the chemicals and crap found in several cosmetics/shampoos/conditioners/hygiene products--whatever, you name it. If it is going in/on MY body, and therefore being absorbed into my skin, (*picture how a bounty paper towel sucks up sh*t on a commercial,) I wanna be sure i'm not getting anything that really doesn't belong or does more harm than good. I've heard several people say if something's not safe to eat then it shouldn't be safe to put on your body. While I know this can't apply to everything, it's a pretty good rule of thumb --especially if it's something you use day in and day out.

The following recipe is meant for your face, and helps pesky acne get cleared up (heck yeeaa!) and it is put together with ingredients 99.36% of you will have on hand already: honey and cinnamon. And the bonus is that it takes maybe 1 minute to put together, and it is easy cleanup (double heck yeaaa!!)

Yes, it's a delicious combination. Try not to lick it all off your face.

What it does:
Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as antibacterial properties.
Honey is a natural humectant, which just means it attracts and retains moisture. Honey also has naturally soothing properties (ever had honey tea to soothe a sore throat?) which is fantastic news if you have that itchy-sh*tty-acne like me!

What you need:
1/2 -1 tsp. ground cinnamon (don't over do it with the cinnamon, or else [I found] it just irritates my skin)
1 tbsp. pure honey

What you need to do:
Step One:
Combine and mix cinnamon and honey in a small bowl.

Step Two:
Wash your face! I apply this right after I shower, before any moisturizer goes on.

Step three:
With clean hands, slather the mixture all over your face (or just in patches that you think need it most i.e T Zone, or wherever you find you have most breakouts). Leave on for 10-15 mins. Rinse off with lukewarm or cool water. Gently pat skin dry, and apply moisturizer at this point.

Heads Up--
-Apply to clean, dry skin.
-Wear a crappy shirt you don't care about just in case it drips and potentially stains your clothes
** IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO EITHER OF THESE INGREDIENTS, DON'T USE THIS. common sense dictates, but hey, who knows nowadays...

Source-Honey
Source- Cinnamon

For all you LURKERS, Don't forget to TRY and REPLY
